Did you enjoy our very first Friday Faves feature we posted last week? We hope so! Now it’s time for another one and this one is all about college. From cool tech accessories and toiletry storage to flowers that show school spirit and a lamp powered by the sun.

modOration’s Friday Faves for February 8 {College Edition}

1. IKEA’s SUNNAN Lamp – How cool would it be to have a lamp on your desk that a) lights your work space up quite nicely b) involves no cords and c) allows you to give back in return? Sounds like a pretty cool lamp doesn’t it? Well that’s exactly what IKEA’s SUNNAN Lamp is all about.

It’s solar powered, so there are no cords. I had the chance to test it out myself and I took off the solar charging panel, put it outside for about 6 hours and have been using the lamp today (going on 2 hours) while I work. When you charge the panel outside for around 9 to 12 hours, it will produce 4 hours of light.

It also has one heck of a cool looking design, as you can see in the photo above. I like that the neck is adjustable so you can get the light right where you want it to be.

Also, for every sale of a SUNNAN lamp, another child will receive one in Pakistan or India. Since the IKEA SUNNAN campaign began in June 2009, over 600,000 SUNNAN lamps have been sold and matched for donations to either UNICEF or Save the Children. I love that!

The lamps are available in five colors at IKEA stores around the world and retail for $19.99.

2. Caboodles Adored Zebra Train Case – I have been a fan of the Caboodles brand since, well, let’s not go there shall we? Back in the day when I was Caboodle crazy, there were only a handful of color and design options and they were all made of plastic. Heavy duty plastic that lasted a really long time,but my oh my how the company has changed their product line over the years.

I am so excited to tell you about the new Caboodle Train Cases available at Ulta. They are so well designed and will help coral all of those cosmetics and toiletries. Let’s face it, in your dorm room you don’t have a lot of space and most likely you have to drag your toiletries back and forth to the bathroom. This train case is perfect for that, as well as when you travel.

I tested out the zebra one, which I am completely obsessed about! It opens up to reveal 4 compartments inside and has plenty of room for just about everything. It also locks, which is nice to keep your room mate from borrowing your mascara. Not cool.

3. Unlimited POP Phone – You might remember that I recently featured the Hello Kitty POP Phone here on modOration. You can check it out here. Not only does Native Union have the Hello Kitty version, but many other vibrant colors as well. They’re available for $34.95 and add a POP of color to any boring space – aka your dorm room. The retro chic handsets make a colorful addition to any desktop and can easily be used around campus or in between classes.

4. Caboodle’s Sassy Plaid Tapered Tote – Yep! It’s another Caboodles product. This one is a tote style and is available at Walmart for $20. They’re out of stock online as of today, but you can pop into a Walmart store and see if you can find one. They’re hot sellers to say the least!

This is another great Caboodles product that can help you keep yourself organized in your dorm room. The tote features a handle for easy travel, a zippered closure and fantastic designs and colors. When you look inside, you’ll see all kinds of compartments to store your makeup and toiletries.  The lid even has spaces for your makeup brushes. Love!

5. FTD’s College Rose Collection – I know, I know…if you’re a regular reader here you’re thinking ‘didn’t you already cover this?’ You bet I did! And I’m mentioning it again because I love it so much. You can see my personal review here with a list of all of the schools FTD has available.

I’m getting ready to send a bouquet to a girl who left for college about 3 weeks ago.  I can’t wait for her to receive it!! These bouquets make such great dorm room decor and really show that special college student how much you care and miss them.

There you have it! Our Friday Faves College Edition. Is there anything that caught your eye?
